Next Alumni Meeting

For anyone interested in becoming more involved in the Coopersville FFA High School or Middle School chapters, the Alumni is a great option. You do not need to be a past FFA member or have a child in either chapter to be a part of this group. We would love to have you join us for our next meeting, which will be on Monday, October 12th, 2015 at approximately 8:00pm. We will be meeting in room B117 of the high school. Hope to see you there!

Field Plot / Land Lab Update

The Land Lab is making great progress and growing very well. A big thanks goes out to K and H Grain for all their work. The Wheat looks to be ready soon and Members and Alumni will be harvesting Straw as well. Thanks to Kevin Schoenborn and Bernie Roossinck for their efforts as well with members in conducting Twilight Land lab lessons for our members. Also thanks to Christine and Herb Zahm for providing refreshments and serving as chaperones. Watch for future updates.

Aug. 1st – Thanks to member Darren Kulicamp for heading up the Straw baling team last week. Also a BIG Thank you to Grandpa Kulicamp for allowing the use of equipment! Members will try their hand at marketing the straw during the course of the school year. The wheat was harvested and we will report shortly on how it yielded.

Alumni Mailing List Update

As discussed at our November meeting, we are going to work to update our mailing list prior to the membership drive starting in January.

First, please take the time to update your contact information by filling out the full form here.

Second, we want to make sure we are reaching as many potential members as possible. To view the names currently on our mailing list, click here. If you know of someone who should be on our list, feel free to suggest them by filling out the form here.

Thank you for your help in getting our mailing lists up to date!

Farm Museum Volunteer Oppertunity

The Coopersville Farm Museum is in need of volunteers! They need volunteers for the petting zoo. The petting zoo will take place each Saturday in April from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. It will take place indoors and the volunteers are given lunch, usually pizza or hot dogs. They are having goats April 6th and 13th and possibly a calf on April 13th and 27th. If you have done this in the past the set up is the same. If you are interested then please contact Kate at (616) 997-8555. Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Tab Drive Update

Right now the Chapter is trying to collect the pop can tabs just as it always does this time of year. Last year we got 50 pounds of tabs, and this year we’re trying to double that and get 100 pounds of tabs! This drive is going on between October 5, 2012 and March 6th, 2013. If you have any tabs that you are willing to donate then please call (616) 997-3534 drop them off in Mr. Bollinger’s room B-117. Thank you.
