Treasurer’s Report: about $1300
Old Business Back To School Picnic – Turned out well, around 2535 people showed up.
Fall Euchre Tournament – not many people showed up due to many other events that night, but we did end up making a $164 profit.
Contests – We are looking for volunteers to help out with any leadership contests. We also may be holding a “Critique Night” before contests to prepare the students for speaking in front of an audience.
Applications – The students will be filling out state award applications over Christmas break, we are always looking for anyone interested in helping out.
New Business Website – We recently got a new site host for our website. So far, everything has been running smoothly with the new site.
Outhouse 500 – The FFA is looking into participating in the Outhouse 500. It would be a great way to advertise and get us recognized in the community. The Wilcome’s are looking into possibly using the outhouse from the old 4H council outhouse from several years ago. They will report back to the Alumni at the next meeting.
Contest Informational Meeting – Scheduled for November 25 informational meeting is to educate the high school and junior high students about available contests they can participate in. Volunteers needed to help explain all the contests.
Winter Euchre Tournament – Melissa Bouchard and Christine Zahm will help organize this year’s winter euchre tournament.
Alumni Meetings – Next meeting was moved to January 13th , 2014. We will be holding officer elections. The spots of President and Treasurer are open and need to be filled!
Dues are coming up again and are due by the end of February. The rates are as follows: $150 – one time Lifetime Membership with an additional $5 local renewal every year or $25 One year Annual Membership
Upcoming Recruitment/Membership – We are always looking for more members and are continuously updating our mailing lists. If you know of anyone you may think will be interested in joining, send their name and contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org. There will be a postcard sent out at the beginning of the year for Alumni’s Annual Update.
It was decided at the last meeting to move the February meeting up to January 13th at the conclusion of the Chapter meeting (around 8:15pm). This will allow more time to plan for upcoming leadership contests and alumni events.
This meeting will also be election night. The President and Treasurer positions are up for election. If you are interested in learning more about either position, please contact either Kevin or April to learn more!
As discussed at our November meeting, we are going to work to update our mailing list prior to the membership drive starting in January.

The FFA Alumni will be hosting an informational session for students interested in participating in the upcoming Ag Skill contest on Thursday February 28th at 7:30 PM in the High School Ag Room. The contests will be hosted at Michigan State University on Friday, April 19th. Students can choose from a wide variety of skills, including topics such as Forestry, Ag Mechanics, Crops, and Veterinary Science. Alumni members will be on hand to answer any questions students may have regarding the different contests.

Tonight’s meetings of the Coopersville FFA chapter and alumni have both been postponed until Monday the 18th.
